Hi! Here's where I'll post collages and moodboards of various kinds. For now, I've divided them in three categories with a single scrolling page, but this might soon change, I think the page is too long and it takes too much time to scroll down to look for something this way, even with the tags on top.
One of these days, I'll think this through and come up with a more image-oriented layout, and actually write the descriptions and comments of the pieces I've posted here instead of the lipsum placeholder.

Wikicollages

Absence

Started this one with the Artist John Salt, whose wikipage I took some of these parts from: I wanted to explore what happens when the author removes themselves from its art, as he tried to do with his work. A master of Photorealism, he spent time and time and time on his paintings to make them look as if they were photographs, to remove any sense that what he was making was made by paint at all.

It's a bit ironic: that to simulate such 'casuality' it takes such an enormous amount of effort, like covering his own tracks, and making unreachable islands out of his works, unable to be traced back to human hand.

What becomes of a text when the hand which wrote it is no longer intellegible, when the text itself is lost? It's a somewhat inevitable thing after all, it's only a matter of time in the grand scheme of things. That's part of what makes time precious, perhaps?

Empty Space

The fact that most of space is empty is what made me start this one. It's a basic thing perhaps but I think about this a lot. If you think about it, most of atoms are empty space, too. So I started this gathering pieces from astronomical objects' wikipages, and letting it coalesce into something which harmonized in one piece which expressed that sentiment. This became entangled with both some of my experiences with Computer Science, and one of my long-times favourite TV series, Doctor Who.

The very transparent background at the very bottom is a picture of the TARDIS (time-space machine from Doctor Who), to which I applied a lot of different filters in Processing while exercising for a Multimedia exam. So is the 'The file [...] contains bad image data--', and that was really funny because the file was originally named "Clara.jpg" but for some reason the Processing interface would not open it, and if you know DW lore from about s7 to s9 that's really tragic-funny. "described as lasting four and a half billion years" is also from DW, it refers to the ending of season 9. Seriously, s7 to s9 is so good.

The Earth-not-found is a screenshot I took myself while looking for our planet in wikisky. The transparent-numbers in the right side of the picture are outputs from an Hackathon me and my friends participated in, we created a Quantum Battleship game, where you can identify where a battleship is without actually hitting it. It's weird and extremely cool. Look up "Elitzur–Vaidman bomb tester" if you're interested in that.

The 'blanks around operators and positions of braces' thing refers to the fact that computer scientists tend to have very strong opinions about how code should be written and I find that very lovely.

Original Characters

Loto - Lozi Pochtlan
(The Artificer Who Ran)

Here's my beloved Loto! He is one of the first characters of this kind I created, for a D&D 5e campaign I partecipated in, which lasted about two years, 2022-2024. The campaign was irl and set in Runeterra, in the LoL universe (I have never played LoL in my life but the DM created something very interesting with it).

Lozi Pochtlan's from Ixtal (he and his sister are from Mexico in modern times); his parents wanted him and his sister to became fire priests, but the sibilings didn't want to. So they conjured up a plan which, by Loto's fault, back...fired terribly.

The huge fire destroyed their village and it separated them. Loto looked for his sister, then thought Astra had died in the fire, while Astra thought Loto had abandoned her. She travelled up in the north, finding a caravan and eventually becoming a hunter with Ashe, while he found haven in Zaun, becoming first a smuggler, then little by little, a full-fledged Artificer.

In the campaign he was created in, due to various misadventures, he lost both of his arms (one cut off by a teammate due to a devil's bargain, the other cut off due to a zombie bite), then most of his organs (botched forced surgery by his teammates), and his legs (paralysis due to a Void Parasite which had begun to fester in his body); he had to find or create mechanical replacements. He has complex thoughts about machines and has proven to be extremely weak to the Glorious Evolution's propaganda; in the campaign, he left the adventure to save the world, and his quest to find his sister, in order to live what little of the world remained with the cult.

He would rather run or avoid the problem than face it or face danger. He is a leaver. He is not brave (except when he is, when you'd last expect it). Running away is a common theme of his life, and guess what, he runs away from acknowledging that, too.

In modern AUs, he studies engineering and eventually becomes a mechanical engineer, and has a terrible, awful, no-good situationship with Annie's OC, Connor O'Malley.

In Mecha/Sci-Fi AUs, he's a mechanical technician doing maintenance and working his way up to the engineering career, probably becoming something of a prototype-inventor, eventually.

I love her character and really wanted to create a collage of her bestworst moments. Honestly few characters are doing it like her. I will probably add more in the future about her in here but ohhh my god it's just- the "you MUST understand I did nothing wrong" really links everything about her character together. She's probably the WORST person in the universe to have time-rewinding powers in the history of everything. She's a perfectionist AND a guilt-ridden masochist. She is powerhungry AND craving her attachment to her own double-standards ethics. She is losing her tether to what makes her 'human' AND she craves knowing how they work and human-like connection is her biggest weakness. I could spend hours talking about this little freak
